Uni project; Space

Few weeks ago we were given an one week project as an introduction to Photography. The brief said to consider and interpret your personal view of 'space'. I had to develope a personal response, through exploring and evolving ways of describing, revealing, conveying and challenging what we perceive to be a space.
This became my result.

My space is visualising a certain feeling you get when you enter an enclosed space, in this case a small area of a park. When entering this kind of area, it's like making it your own for a short period of time. At this particular area there were trees and bushes enclosing the space, casting shadows over some few benches, and through the trees leafes there were sunbeams coming down in to the centre. You feel safe and relaxed. The world and time seem to pause for a moment. At the minute you leave this enclosed space it all breaks up and you start exploring the world again.
Because of this specific feeling, I wanted to name it 'The Comfort Zone'.
